Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV
What is PrE-exposure Prophylaxis?
PrEP, is a daily medication designed to prevent individuals from becoming infected with HIV.
Studies show it to be 99% effective at reducing HIV transmission from sex and 74% effective at reducing HIV transmission from intravenous drug use when taken daily.¹
Who should get PreP?
Any HIV negative individual who is at risk of contracting HIV due to:
a partner with HIV
partners of unknown HIV status
intravenous drug use
PREP at Equality clinic
The PrEP manufacturer has a patient support program that covers the full cost of PrEP for those that qualify!
You need:
1. 2021 tax info or 2 paystubs or letter indicating financial support
2. A completed application (follow this link)
We can help with:
1. Free lab testing for HIV, Hepatitis B, and STIs
2. Physician signature and dosing information
3. Faxing the completed application over to the manufacturer (or you can do it yourself!)
* Free HIV testing is available at Equality Clinic without an appointment. An appointment is needed for free PrEP at Equality Clinic.
